About the Author
Rose Tomlin’s published work includes Two Seasons, Poetry by a Mother and Daughter. Her personal essays have appeared in the Dallas Morning News-Herald, the Wilmington Star, the Charleston Post & Courier and many northeastern newspapers in the Gannett Chain.
Her screenplay, Theodosia, won the Grand Jury Award, Best Screenplay, at the Worldfest International Film Festival and First Place in the annual Southeastern Creative Media Competition.
Her poem, Crossing the Cooper, was a winner in a statewide contest to choose poems to be framed and hung in the Ashley River Tower at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Her career writing radio, television and print advertising copy in New York and South Carolina spanned over 12 years in which she was a radio and TV scriptwriter in the Product Publicity Department of Young & Rubicam Advertising Agency in New York City and later was Copy Chief at WCSC-TV in Charleston SC. She was the editor of Gateway Magazine, a publication of the South Carolina tourist industry based in Greenville, SC, while managing the Copy Department at Meyers-Arnold Department Store, also in Greenville.
She lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband.
